Computer Services

This site contains various links to internal website services that are useful to the Department of Urology, Computer Services staff and other people in the departments that work with them.

2011-09-19 - Migration Complete

At this point we believe everyone has been migrated from the old email and file server to the new ones using Gatorlink accounts. Thank you everyone for your understanding during this process, it has been a long and busy year.

2011-01-11 - Smart Phones

We support using smart phones to connect to your department email account, but because each phone offers different features we try to evaluate what ones will work with our systems. A list of compatible devices is kept on our standards page. This list is updated usually monthly as new devices are released. It also will provide a link to each carrier's version of that phone so you can use this while looking for which new phone to purchase.

As always if you have any questions about using your phone for email or want to connect up a compatible device please contact Computer Services.

2010-09-14 - Webmail Changes

As part of the move to UFAD for our accounts, we are also moving to a new email system. This will combine your departmental email with your Gatorlink account. Emails sent to your old department address will be forwarded to this new account so nothing will be lost in the migration.

For those users looking for webmail once their account has been migrated to UFAD, you should use the new "UF Exchange Webmail" link that is available on this page. Or go to http://mail.ufl.edu/ and click on the link saying "Outlook Web Access". When the login screen is displayed, remember to enter your Gatorlink user name and password.

2010-09-14 - UFAD Migration has Started

After much testing and setup we have begun our migration from using the Medicine user accounts to UFAD/Gatorlink. We are doing this move one group at a time and at this time the only group affected is the School of PA Studies. Once we have finished their migration the next group we will be working with is the Department of Otolarynology.

During this migration there may be issues that we haven't encountered before and we will be working as quickly as possible to solve them. If you have any questions about this change please contact Computer Services.

2010-06-30 - RFA No Longer Supported

Due to changes in the security requirements we have discontinued our Remote File Access (RFA) service. Also it appears Windows 7 is having issues accessing the RFA server.

If you need to access files remotely we provide the Remote Desktop Server. Or if you have one of the campus VPN clients installed you can directly map a network drive to the file server. If you have any questions feel free to contact Computer Services.
